Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a ScreenPro heat pump cover cost?

ScreenPro heat pump covers start from $920 RRP (incl. GST) for the smallest Asko size, in standard category 1 colours. Pricing increases with style, size, and colour, and freight is calculated separately depending on your location. See each style page or the brochure for full pricing, or request a free quote for custom sizes and trade rates.

Why is there a gap between the back of the ScreenPro cover and the wall?

This is normal. ScreenPro covers are designed to align with the back of the heat pump unit to allow additional ventilation around the condenser unit, rather than sit hard against the wall.

Do you offer trade pricing? Can I become a distributor?

Yes. ScreenPro offers preferential pricing for trade professionals and distributors. Contact info@screenpro.nz to talk about rates or becoming a distributor.

How do I find the right size for my heat pump cover?

Measure the width, height, and depth of your outdoor unit, then check it against the six standard sizes on each style's product page. Chatham and Futuna are also available in non-standard sizes if your unit falls outside the standard range - get in touch and we'll help you find the right fit.

What is the warranty period for ScreenPro air conditioning covers?

ScreenPro heat pump covers carry a 5-year warranty, for residential and commercial installs alike.

Are ScreenPro air conditioning covers compatible with all types of air conditioning units and heat pumps?

ScreenPro's six standard sizes fit most common outdoor heat pump and air conditioning condenser units. For units outside the standard range, Chatham and Futuna offer non-standard sizing - get in touch and we'll help you find the right fit.

Can I install ScreenPro heat pump covers myself, or is professional installation recommended?

Most customers install their ScreenPro cover themselves. Panels arrive flat-packed, pre-built and pre-hinged, with stainless steel hardware included, so no special tools or trade skills are needed. If you'd rather not install it yourself, professional installation is available through our nationwide network.

What is the ScreenPro Heat Pump Cover made of?

ScreenPro heat pump covers are made from durable, powdercoated aluminium, built for long-term protection against corrosion and NZ weather. Each style has its own louvre or slat profile: Asko uses a 70mm x 32mm Zed blade at 85-90mm centres, Chatham a 75mm x 30mm Zed blade at 75mm centres, and Futuna 50mm x 16mm vertical slats at 75mm centres. Covers are available in 22 standard Dulux powdercoat colours, with additional Dulux colours available on request for a custom finish.

What's the difference between Asko, Chatham, and Futuna?

Asko is the entry-level option, styled for airflow and value. Chatham has the most concealed, minimalist profile for a premium look. Futuna adds a no-toeholds design built specifically for balcony installs.

Do I need building consent for a ScreenPro heat pump cover?

In most cases, a ScreenPro cover doesn't require building consent, since it's a non-structural screen rather than a building. For larger commercial or multi-unit projects, we'd recommend checking with your local council or architect.
