When designing outdoor living spaces, it’s often the smaller details that help bring the overall look together. For this residential project in Wānaka, the homeowners wanted a clean, cohesive finish across both their balustrades and exterior utility elements.
Installed by Viewtec, the project featured UNEX Finline aluminium balustrades to the deck area, paired with ScreenPro Futuna-style heat pump covers to conceal external heat pump units.
Rather than leaving the heat pumps exposed, the clients opted to integrate the covers into the overall architectural aesthetic of the home. The Futuna-style covers were powder coated in Dulux Tidal Drift to match the Finline balustrades and surrounding joinery, creating a consistent finish across the exterior.
The result is a more refined outdoor environment where practical services are visually integrated into the design, rather than standing out as an afterthought.
Why ScreenPro Heat Pump Covers?
ScreenPro aluminium heat pump covers are designed to improve the appearance of outdoor spaces while still allowing suitable airflow for heat pump performance. Available in a range of styles and powdercoat finishes, they can be tailored to complement surrounding architectural elements such as balustrades, screens, louvres, and joinery.
For projects where visual consistency matters, matching colours and profiles across multiple aluminium systems can help create a more considered overall result.
A Cohesive Outdoor Solution
This project highlights how architectural aluminium systems can work together to create a unified exterior finish. By combining Unex balustrades and ScreenPro heat pump covers in the same colour palette and material finish, the outdoor space achieves a cleaner and more integrated appearance.
